Dackarna
The draw was enough to pull the Mallila side clear of the bottom of the Elitserien table as Vargarna’s 36-54 defeat at Elit Vetlanda condemned them to bottom place with just four rounds of the normal league season remaining, although the Norrkoping side do have a match in hand on Dackarna. The rules dictate that the bottom club are relegated to the Allsvenskan League and then play-offs will decide which club is relegated alongside them. For a club of Dackarna’s standing, it is vital that they at least get amongst the race-off group and to have a say in their own fate they will need to win their two remaining home meetings against Vastervik and Elit Vetlanda.
Danny won heat 5 from Buczkowski, Mroczka and Nicholls; with that 4-2 advantage putting Dackarna 19-11 in the lead on away shale and looking in good shape. Danny took his second win on the night in heat 11 when he beat Nicholls and Ludvig Lindgren and that drawn heat still kept the Mallila side eight points up at 29-37. The home side rallied later in the meeting however and two 4-2’s and a 5-1 in the final three heats gave them a share of the spoils leaving the Dackarna management disappointed but this was nevertheless a useful away point gained.
King now faces further Sky Sports Elite League action at Perry Barr on Thursday (11th August) against his old club, the Peterborough Panthers, before next Monday’s meeting at home to Belle Vue.
