Danny was back in Poland yesterday for more Polish Division One league action and was again on the winning side as GTZ Grudziadz side narrowly defeated Lotos Gdansk in their home local derby by 47-43 in front of a 4,200 crowd which contained 500 travelling fans. Danny scored just three points (1,1,0,1) however and struggled to make his mark during the afternoon meeting. He wasn’t the only one however as David Ruud for Grudziadz and Mikael Max for Gdansk failed to make an impact.

Danny managed to beat Pawel Hlib in heat 5 and team mate David Ruud in heat 13 to collect third places but that was about as good as it got for the Kent racer who showed much better form for the Grudziadz management in previous home meetings against Wroclaw and Poznan.

King now faces further Sky Sports Elite League action at Perry Barr on Thursday (14th April) against the Lakeside Hammers before a tough trip to Brandon to face the Elite League champions Coventry Bees on Friday evening (8pm). He will also be waiting to hear if he has been selected for Grudziadz’s away fixture at Bydgoszcz on Easter Monday (April 25th).

GTZ Grudziadz 47 David Ruud 3, Davey Watt 13, Tomasz Chrzanowski 11, Danny 3, Krzysztof Buczkowski 8+2, Matthew Lampkowski 1+1 and Andriy Kudryashov 8

Lotos Gdansk 43 Mikael Max 0, Thomas H. Jonasson 11+2, Pawel Hlib 4, David Stachyra 7+1, Magnus Zetterstrom 13+1, Marcel Szymko 0 and Damian Sperz 8+1
