Birmingham Brummies
All the good work of the previous week at Perry Barr was undone as the Birmingham Brummies came crashing down to early with a four point home defeat (43-47) at the hands of the Belle Vue Aces on another frustrating night for Danny King.
A 5-1 combination when he followed home team mate Ben Barker in heat nine to put Birmingham 30-24 ahead was about as good as it got for Danny who is currently struggling to find any consistency in his machinery or gating, the latter being so important around his home Perry Barr circuit.
Being on the wrong end of Aces maximum 5-1’s in heats 3 and 14 would not have pleased him at all and he clearly has much to think about ahead of his SGP World Championship semi-final in Lonigo, Italy on Saturday evening. After that he is back to team action with the Brummies as they face a tough trip to Wolverhampton in Sky Sports Elite League action on Monday evening (4th July) at 7.30pm.
Birmingham 43 Krzysztof Kasprzak 6+1, Ulrich Ostergaard 8+2, Ben Barker 9, Danny 4+2, Daniel Nermark 5+1, Kevin Wolbert 2+1 and Claus Vissing 9+1
Belle Vue 47 Chris Harris 15 (max), Dawid Stachyra R/R, Charlie Gjedde 5+1, Rory Schlein 13+2, Patrick Hougaard 4, Craig Cook 1 and Ricky Kling 7
