Welcome

Welcome back to my website for the start of the 2010 Speedway season, one which I really can’t wait to get started, kicking off at Rye House Speedway (this Sunday 13th at 2.30pm) when I appear in the Ben Fund Bonanza meeting; all in aid of the Speedway Riders’ Benevolent Fund.

This is of course for a great cause to help those in the sport who have been less fortunate and it’s a fund that we inevitably all have to call on at some time or other unless we are extremely lucky! The meeting has a fabulous line-up and it would be great to get the chance to say hello to any of my fans whether you be from my Mildenhall, Rye House or Peterborough days or from my current club Ipswich.

It will be a hard test to begin the season but for me one which will certainly tell me how sharp I am or need to become. With riders like Jason Crump, Nicki Pedersen, Leigh Adams and Freddie Lindgren in the meeting, it will certainly be tough going but I am up for the challenge.

Close Season

It’s been a pretty busy winter for me.  I have taken one week out of the winter months for a snowboarding holiday and a bit of R n R. Since then I have been working hard at the gym to ensure I am fully fit for the new season.  For the first time in my career I have also been able to keep race fit by purchasing a moto-x bike and getting out on it at every opportunity I can.  I have also been spending a lot of time in the workshop and have invested heavily on my equipment which we hope will pay off!  Last year was a successful season for me and I hope to excel this year and maintain my position in Team GB.

2010 and Beyond

I signed once again for the Ipswich Witches which I am especially pleased about; it is nice to feel happy at what I now consider my home in British Speedway and I am honoured to have been once again handed the captaincy role. I’m pretty excited about the changes that have been made to the Foxhall track too and I look forward to getting some practice in ahead of my first meeting there against Lakeside Hammers on Thursday 25th March. The changes will mean plenty more racing lines and that can only suit a racer like me who occasionally misses the odd start and has to do it the hard way…from the back!

Sweden

I’m also racing overseas once again this season with Vargarna in Sweden who I signed for at the end of last season.  I was only able to race a few meetings for them in the past season due to injury but I hope to race on a more regular basis and help them go one step further to winning the gold!

Poland

I didn’t think for a long while that much would get resolved with regard to 2010 in Poland and it was a very frustrating time for the early part of the winter after a nightmare season in 2009 with Ostrow. Thankfully the ban that I received has now been lifted and I have signed a new contract in the Polish First Division with Poznan.  I am very excited to have signed a contract with Poznan as they are a very professional club, with high ambitions for the future.

Sponsors

I’d like to thank all my sponsors who have stayed with me for the 2010 season. I’d especially like to thank Rob Warren from R.J. Warren Ltd who continues to back me to the hilt as far as my racing goes.  I would also like to thank the following sponsors for all of their help throughout last season; my Dad Rob of Robert King On Site Services Ltd, Steve & Sarah Miles – Milesey, Teng Tools, Andy Griggs at A.P. Gee Clothing Ltd, Rob & Tanya at BTS Liquid Waste, Steve Brandon at Forcefield, Michael Lee at TSR Tuning and also Dave at Fastlok Engineering.

I would like to welcome new sponsors Fuchs Silkolene, Orwell Motorcycles and NEB Engineering to the team for the 2010 season. I look forward to a successful season working with all of you and hope it continues for many years to come.

I look forward to updating my website across the season and keeping you all up to date with everything connected to DK Racing.  DK Racing merchandise is in production and will be available shortly through the website.  We already have produced a new metal badge and will soon have a new cap and other clothing lines so please keep coming back for new features and news as the season progresses.

All the best

Danny
