Danny started so well but overall endured an average night in Dorset as the Witches notched the highest score this season by a visiting side at Wimborne Road in a 52-40 defeat.
The meeting kicked off in style for the Silkolene star as he led home Poole Pirates Dane Bjarne Pedersen and Pole Artur Mroczka to keep the Witches in the hunt. Danny also made the start in heat 7 but lying in mid- track he could do little to stop Leon Madsen and Davey Watt flying by him to concede a 5-1 alongside Witches new boy Ales Dryml.
He was on the receiving end of yet another Pirates 5-1 in heat 10 before notching an improved second place in heat 12 when he followed home the revenge seeking Bjarne Pedersen for 3-3 ahead of Dryml and Jason Doyle.
Overall Witches did well with excellent scoring from Scott Nicholls (15) and Robert Miskowiak (10+1) but it wasn’t quite enough on the night. Positive vibes are needed in the Witches camp right now and three points from the home clash with Sky Sports Elite League champions Wolverhampton tomorrow night (Thurs 8th June @ 7.30 pm) could be just the boost they need to re-launch their flagging season.
