Ipswich Witches
The change within 24 hours was obvious as Ipswich Witches bounced back from a poor home showing against Lakeside to take the match point in a narrow 50-43 defeat at bottom of the table Coventry Bees in this Friday night clash.
Danny was again in very good form and notched probably one of his best team scores ever at Brandon with nine points although that included a tactical ride double points third place in heat 14 which counted as a two. Robert Miskowiak was in sensational form to score 15 points for Ipswich; although an uncharacteristic paid nine from Scott Nicholls was a decisive factor in the meeting swinging in the Bees favour in the end. In practically every other meeting Scott has been the Witches top performer.
Danny recorded a decent heat win in the tenth race when he beat the Bees duo of Ben Barker and Chris Harris, which is by no means an easy feat to accomplish on a Brandon track they know so well. Two other second places made up Danny’s evening; in his opening ride in heat 3 when Aaron Summers left a gap that Danny took full advantage of and in heat seven when following home “Roo-Boy” Rory Schlein for a 2-4 that left the score at 25-17 to Coventry.
This was so much more encouraging for Ipswich Witches and they will be looking to take that feel good factor into their next clash against Eastbourne Eagles on Thursday 20th May at 7.30pm.
